Year 11 Applied Learning Day

‘Some people dream of success….others stay awake to achieve it’ was just one of the key messages from a session delivered by the Director of Live-N-Learn, Scott Goddard to students in Year 11 as a key part of their Applied Learning Day experience.

The core aim of the day was to provide encouragement, practical strategies and considering what effective studying looks like – namely considering the concepts of understanding, condensing, memorising and reviewing as students prepare for their exams.  This was supported by sessions on personal finance, delivered by Barclays Life Skills, and driver and passenger safety.

Year 11 students preparing for the Short Course GCSE RS examination on the 15th May spent the day with Mrs Firth, developing their understanding of the requirements of the exam and their understanding of the material that will be assessed.

The response of the students and their engagement with the variety of tasks they were set was great to see.   Remember; ‘what you do today can improve all your tomorrows’.
